Andersen Genève: independence is not the same as making everything in-house

The 1995 Jour et Nuit commission for Walter Haselberger combined Andersen’s indication system with a Jean-Pierre Hagmann case and a vintage Victorin Piguet minute-repeater movement. The 2020 Jumping Hours 40th Anniversary used a Frédéric Piguet 11.50 base with Andersen’s work and specialist craft contributions; it is not evidence that every component was newly made by Andersen.

AHCI dates Andersen’s first world-time wristwatch to 1989. The 2022 Asprey collaboration is a documented co-branded world-time watch with a blue-gold guilloché dial. 416

The work and why it matters

AHCI places Svend Andersen’s independence in the late 1970s and first unique-watch delivery in 1980. The brand celebrates 1980; its GPHG profile gives a 1979 business start. AHCI records Svend Andersen’s 1969 Bottle Clock, work in Patek Philippe’s complications department before independence, and co-founding of AHCI in 1985.

Pierre-Alexandre Aeschlimann described becoming president of Andersen Genève SA in March 2015. The GPHG brand profile calls him owner since 2015; Europa Star still described him directing the house in 2025. The current brand website identifies Geneva and La Chaux-de-Fonds ateliers and advertises small-scale watchmaking. Its annual-volume claim is not treated as independently verified output. 12345
