Why the name matters

Xu Yaonan was a movement designer and tourbillon developer, not an original 1958 founder; management credits his prototype to 1996. Shi Wenli joined design/trial-production work in 1964 and co-designed B24 with Xu Yaonan in 2011, according to the brand-facing biography.

The brand-facing account credits Su Wenbin with assembling and regulating three tourbillon prototypes in 1996 and the 2004 rose-gold edition. The brand-facing account credits Zhao Zhenling with tourbillon/minute-repeater work in 2008 and leading Wuji’s triple-axis tourbillon design in 2013.

In that interview, Beijing retained movement manufacturing, while Guangdong suppliers made cases and Beijing artists supplied decorated dials; FIYTA supplied access to CNC equipment. 514

Why the name matters

People, production and attribution

Beijing Watch Factory originated as a government watchmaking enterprise in 1958; its director attributed the initiative to Peng Zhen. The official chronology dates the factory’s establishment to 19 June 1958 and its move to Changping to 1960.

Europa Star’s factory reporting places Beijing Watch Factory in Changping, Beijing, China. The official presentation uses 北京表 for the Beijing watch brand; the factory and the consumer brand require separate legal-operator checks. 1234

Continuity and the record today

General manager Hong Miao described the factory as privately operated since 2004. The chronology repeats prototype material under 1995 and 1996; the 2011 management interview explicitly gives 1996 for the first prototype.

B24 is presented as a 2011 double-escapement, double-barrel movement developed by Shi Wenli and Xu Yaonan. Brand presentations and a shop were retrievable or indexed in this review; neither establishes the factory’s current legal ownership or delivery performance. 1253
